Taxi Kitchen

I have tended to avoid the heart of Melbourne for quite a few years now and have focused my attentions on restaurants, venues and travel in the outer regions of the city. I have also spent a lot of time travelling and reviewing throughout country Victoria, but having tickets to see the show Chicago at the Melbourne State Theatre I was brought back into the heart of the city.

I wanted to be close to the theatre, so when it was suggested I visit Taxi Kitchen for lunch prior to the show I couldn’t go past its Federation Square location.

Taxi Kitchen is a light filled space with modern, slightly scandi, décor that is comfortable and inviting. The highly trained and knowledgeable wait staff are professional and friendly and will talk you through the local, seasonal and sustainable menu, able to answer any questions you may have.

Other than totally delicious, I found the menu to be quite plentiful and rustic with a good proportion of the dishes having an Asian influence.

My experience at Taxi Kitchen has not only inspired me to come back into the heart of Melbourne but also to visit this venue again.
