Our Aussie Day

It’s our day of celebration – Australia Day, the day we celebrate our country, our people and our achievements.

Most of us choose to turn 26 January into a day of celebration, a day where we have fun and celebrate our true ‘Aussie’ spirit, a day where we spend time with family and friends and when we remember those who have fought to make our country what it is today.

You can’t set foot anywhere outdoors without the smell of a barbeque, wafting into your nostrils and Australian costumes, from painted nails to full body Aussie colours are seen everywhere.

There are so many different ways to celebrate – traditional food – lamingtons, pavlovas, Anzac biscuits, shrimp and sausages on the barbeque, a day at the beach, a picnic, a game of cricket, going to watch one of the last days of the Australian Open tennis in Melbourne. The options are almost endless.

January 26 is a wonderful day so whatever you do, do it in style. Paint your face; race your inflatable thong on the waves, enjoy a beer, party in the way we Aussies know how to party – whether that be big or small, just celebrate our history, our future and who we are now.

Enjoy your day and Happy Australia Day from the prodijee team.
