For the sophisticated drinker

The alluring and complex taste of Italy’s finest liqueur, Amaro Montenegro, is becoming one the hottest and most mixed liqueurs in the Australian bar industry.
Traditionally consumed as an aperitif, Australian bartenders are moving away from this conventional stereotype and creating contemporary cocktails that are intricate in flavour and rouse the senses.
Australian Brand Ambassador, Jackson Thornton is at the forefront of this movement and is working closely with the brand and industry to educate and showcase the diversity, complexity and exotic nature of this family-owned brand, alongside knowledge passed on by Amaro Montenegro’s Italian Master Herbalist, Matteo Bonoli.
“As a well-loved liqueur, we’re working to continue this passion and enthusiasm for the brand, whilst challenging people to think and consume Montenegro in different ways – whether over ice with the zest of citrus, in a timeless cocktail such as the Manhattan or in completely new creations.
“The core essence of Montenegro is enchanting; a complex yet adaptable flavour combination that blends and compliments uniquely,” said Jackson.
From reimagined classics to today’s innovative cocktails from around the globe, Amaro Montenegro emanates classic European lifestyle and culture with a touch of mystery and an unforgettable secret recipe that has remained unchanged for more than a century.
With forty botanicals from around the world, water from Italy’s Gran Sasso Mountains and a secret ingredient, the taste of Amaro Montenegro is initially sweet – with a hint of orange peel, coriander, tea, caramel and chestnut honey – before melting into a bitter and velvety finish.
Jackson is spearheading the brand’s expansion in Australia, establishing one on one Monte training sessions for industry leaders, bar tenders and professionals, tasting events for media and industry representatives, educational sessions and more.
“Our vision is to position Amaro Montenegro as one of the most adaptable, diverse liqueurs on the market and become the beverage of choice for the sophisticated drinker,” said Jackson.
