Xavi Opens adidas Zone

Dubai, UAE: Global football superstar ‘Xavi’ Hernandez made a special visit to Dubai to meet lucky adidas competition winners and help open the new flagship GO-Sports store in the Mall of the Emirates. Regarded world-wide as a footballing genius, the former Spanish national team sensation, who is currently playing in Qatar for professional club Al Sadd, made the short trip from Doha to Dubai for a star in-store appearance with adidas’ strategic partner.

Xavi met fans before testing out the latest edition of the adidas X & Ace football boots and demonstrating his star qualities in the soon to open adidas skills cage.  Competition winners met Xavi and watched one of the most technical gifted players of all time in close control action before entering the cage to show off their own skills.

The interactive skills cage is another first for adidas proving the brand’s love of sport having recently welcomed David Beckham to Dubai to launch the new HomeCourt concept store.

For fans of adidas and Xavi, it was a once in a lifetime opportunity to spend time with a player who’s skill has seen him decorated with eight La Liga titles, three UEFA Champions Leagues, two UEFA Super Cups, three Copa del Reys, six Spanish Supercups, and two FIFA Club World Cups over a 17-year playing career
