What’s in your bag?

Our handbags are much more than something to fling over our shoulder when we’re on the move. They hold our worldly possessions that we simply can’t live without. Whether prepping for a girl’s night out, quick trip or an important meeting, a woman always needs to be prepared with the basic essentials on hand.

I am one of the serial offenders of having a large shoulder bag that is packed with almost everything except the kitchen sink, but, I never have the one item I want. Over the years, I have spent countless hours rummaging through the contents of my bag only to throw my hands up in despair because the one thing I am looking for is not there.

As we head towards the festive time of the year and there are more and more parties, dinners, social drinks etc after work, we need to be extra prepared. You have probably put in a long day at work, you are tired and feeling the effects of looking at a computer screen for hours on end but now you want to look your best for after work activities.

Here are two very handy products that should be in your handbag at these times, but because there are other occasions that we might need a bit of help, they should be in your bag at all times – they have become my ‘go to – in bag’ necessities.1

Hydralyte – RRP AU$14.99

There are so many reasons why the body can become dehydrated; excess heat, vomiting or diarrhoea, travel, exercise or excessive alcohol. Dehydration can lead to headaches, lethargy and constipation but is easily avoided by consuming enough fluid. As the body loses fluid, it needs to be replaced through food and water. Electrolytes help the body retain fluid and are essential for nerve and muscle function. Available in orange, apple blackcurrant, lemonade and lemon lime, Hydralyte is a scientifically formulated oral rehydration solution to help manage dehydration.

To avoid becoming dehydrated from normal daily activity, keep some Hydralyte tablets or sachets in your handbag. Then if you feel the symptoms of dehydration coming on, pop some Hydralyte in water for fast, effective results.

Murine Clear Eyes – RRP AU$9.95

There are a number of things that can cause our eyes to become red or bloodshot – from a late night out to lack of sleep, working in dusty environments, the sun’s glare, swimming, or wearing contact lenses. Even the strain of staring at a computer for long periods of time and the flow of air conditioning in an office can cause the eyes to become red and sore.

Clear Eyes is specially formulated to relieve redness with Naphazoline Hydrochloride, a vasoconstrictor that helps tighten blood vessels in your eyes to relieve redness and brighten the eye.

The 15ml bottle is easily stored in your handbag for use on the move. With Clear Eyes, all they’ll see are clear eyes.
