Oils aint oils

Dry skin can be a big problem, I know because I have very dry skin. If I get lazy and don’t moisturise for a couple of days the skin on my legs can literally be cracking and peeling off – disgusting but true.
I was once told by a doctor that oils, rather than moisturisers, would be best for me and that I should apply baby oil to my skin straight after showering and before towel drying. I did this, and yes, it helped my skin – to a degree – but it ruined my clothes. Baby oil and fabric isn’t a great mix nor is the feeling of clothes sticking to your body.
I have found a couple of oils that work well for me, without ruining my clothes, and now I have found another – Babs Body Oil.
This delightfully scented oil feeds and nourishes your skin from the outside-in. Used as directed – applying daily to damp skin – it will provide deep hydration at the same time as keeping skin smooth, healthy and glowing, all without leaving you feeling like an oil slick.
The unique earthy blend of essential oils such as mandarin, orange, lavender, geranium and patchouli, works to rejuvenate tired skin cells and heal scarring as well as reducing the appearance of lines and stretch marks.
The bottle of Babs Natural Body Oil is only 100ml, and while it is a beautiful product that works really well, pricewise it is probably best used on a targeted area rather than an all over body oil.

When it comes to putting oil on my face I am always hesitant. The skin on my face is combination, not even combination in the ‘T Zone’, and as I have aged I have found that my skin can change on what seems to be a daily basis. One day dry, one day oily, one day I have redness, the next not, so using any product, let alone an oil, can cause me great problems if I am not cautious about the products I use.
Babs Daily Natural Face Oil is like liquid gold for the face. It is a luxurious blend of highly nourishing and deeply hydrating pure plant oils that are packed with antioxidants and vitamins A, B1, B2, B5, C, D and E which help reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines without clogging pores. The product lacks the delightful fragrance of the body oil but is high in essential fatty acids that penetrate the skin’s layers for a deeply healing effect as well as encouraging new tissue and skin cell rejuvenation.
The recommended use is to apply 3-4 drops daily in place of moisturiser but for my skin I find that it is best for me to apply 3 drops every second night – alternating with a moisturiser on the other night.
It must be noted that all recommendations on all skincare products are simply guidelines and the individual needs to work out what works best for them. It must also be noted that while the recommended usage is 3-4 drops, this product comes with a pump and not a dropper, which makes it a little difficult to measure a set amount.
Babs Natural Face Oil can also be used as a beard oil for him to moisturise and sooth hair follicles, but I have also found that (with both the body oil and face oil) gently massaging the residue from your fingertips lightly through your hair will help reduce fly aways!
