Melbourne designer announces inaugural everyday couture collection

 Khòlò the Label  is celebrating the launch of their first collection entitled ‘Breathe’ to the Australian public. Khòlò’s line features bespoke, luxe couture for women who thrive on style, vibrancy and originality.

 

The brand has partnered with Italian-born artist Carmelo Blandino to bring his iconic canvas pieces to life on luxury silks and fabrics. Using 3D metal sequin and metallic beaded embellishments, Khòlò is collaborating with the world’s finest artisans in India and Australia’s most experienced designers to create a range that epitomises modern luxury and adornment.  

Khòlò’s garments have been named after women who have been influential to the designer; and have been designed with curves in mind, catering to womens’ sizes eight to sixteen. The collection features dresses, coats, midi tops, blouses, pants, skirts, clutches and bridal wear in a stunning palette of khaki greens, pinks, navys, primrose yellows and whites. 

Since the brand’s inception in October 2016, Khòlò has prioritised ethical production across its supply chain and has recently been successfully audited in India by Sedes Members Ethical Trade Audit.

 

Khòlò is headed up by Melbourne-local Karishma Kasabia, the accomplished creative oversees the entire practical process ensuring a complexity of work and eye for detail other brands cannot obtain.

 Kasabia says, “I’m so excited to be launching our first collection under the brand Khòlò after eight months of design, pattern making, fabric sourcing and collection development. The whole team at Khòlò is overwhelmed with the support we’ve received since establishing the brand. Our Leela Midi Top in Lilac is already sold out before the launch which is an amazing response for our haute couture collection.” 

“We’re working on perfecting the next season’s collection ’Daises’ currently which will be launched in November.”
